Why did you decide to get involved in research?: For the advancement of the profession and building an evidence base to inform practices
Who encouraged you to get involved in research and who do you go to for advice when you need it? My mentor Dr G Azangwe
What sort of activities/studies have you been involved in? (e.g. data collection, planning, supportive care/clinical research): Data collection for a national survey. Clinical research in TB and HIV. Student research supervision
What do you enjoy most about being involved in this/these research activities? Data analysis and literature review discovery of what others are doing
What has been your biggest challenge or barrier to being involved in research? Lack of research equipment needed for some ideas. Lack of a PhD qualification
What one piece of advice would you give other researchers who have never been involved in research before? Try it and you will not want to stop
