Why did you decide to get involved in research?
I am interested in both the processes in RT and the reasons behind why we do what we do, as it is a constantly evolving field.
What sort of activities/studies have you been involved in?
I have been involved in some research regarding brachytherapy, particularly accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI).
Currently, my role as the Content Author for Radiation Oncology at eviQ required applying research into protocols and documents which guide clinical practice on a daily basis.
What do you enjoy most about being involved in these research activities?
Understanding clinical decision making and widening my scope of practice.
What has been your biggest challenge or barrier to being involved in research?
Balancing normal work, life and being involved in research is always a challenge!
What one piece of advice would you give other researchers who have never been involved in research before?
Always take up every opportunity, you never know where it might lead.
