Was asked if I would like to help with the benchmarking of the STARS Trial and also have been involved in the Raves trial
Who encouraged you to get involved in research and who do you go to for advice when you need it?
Charge RT, we have a research team in the dept which includes mostly nurses and one dedicated RT
What sort of activities/studies have you been involved in?
STARS, RAVES, CHISEL trials (radiation therapy)
What do you enjoy most about being involved in this/these research activities? all of the aforementioned
What has been your biggest challenge or barrier to being involved in research?
So far, many cancer trials haven’t focused on improvements in RT, just standardized it, so that it does not skew results of the drug in the trial. The dept ‘s Research RT is responsible for collating data with the clinical trials team & is actively looking for RT-focused trials. I am her back-up
